Default Another H.P. luger on Simpson

Was just looking through some of the lugers that Simpson ltd. had for sale on there web page, and I noticed another H.P. luger they had to purchase.

H.P. 111
SN - 9761u
Stock lug ground off
Year is undated on the top of the receiver, but says 1929 police luger.

Just wanted to see if this one has been accounted for with the H.P. police lugers

Would the police have ground the lug when it was reconditioned?

Not all HP lugers have a ground stock lug, some do, some don't, we discuss H.P.'s in our new book.

today, H.P. 121 sold at auction, they did not mention the ground stock lug, my feeling is that the internet bidder will think he got screwed when he sees it although it is a known variation

I was just curious on how many known H.P. poice lugers do the members of the forum know of. I was reading an old thread from back in 2005 that listed the following.

H.P. 54
H.P. 88
H.P. 92 holster
H.P. 109
H.P. 148
H.P. 213
H.P. 453
H.P. 487 Holster
H.P. 503
H.P. 518 Holster
H.P. 774

Ed jst mentioned H.P. 121
I just saw H.P. 111 today on Simpson ltd.

So thats (10) actual guns and (3) holsters

The Lugers purchased in 1929-30 to arm the Hessian Schupo in the areas that were occupied by French forces until June 1930 had their stock lugs ground off, either at the factory or immediately upon receipt. This was probably at the insistence of the French. Older Lugers that had been issued to Hessian Schupo in unoccupied areas earlier in the 1920s retained their stock lugs.
