I have an S42 1937 P08 with replacement gripes. They are fugley as can be in feel and checking.
What are he best replacement grips grips in a modest price range. I have looked at Nill from Mac Tec and they don't look any better. I do recall seeing Nill grips with a much finer checking and manufacture a year or two ago . I have had this P08 for almost 30 years now and I would like to set it aside and move on. Thanks for looking and I do enjoy all the expertise postings here. ![]() |

Why not buy a set of originals? With the repro grips the gun is already mismatched so non-matching original grips aren’t an issue in that respect, but they’ll definitely look and better, and nominally add a bit more to the gun’s value. A decent set shouldn’t run you more than a hundred bucks or so.

I’m with Bill. Given the overall value of the gun as a whole, getting original grips for it would be a small percentage of the cost / value of the gun and would get it back to as close to original as you can without having the grips match. Plus then you can sell the repro grips on it now and get a little bit back out of them to lower the cost on the originals. I doubt the originals are ever going to get any cheaper the longer you wait.

I have been looking but haven't seen anything but real beat up chipped and broken grips as high as $225 and up.

Put a WTB post here. I'll look and see what I might have, if anything, but there are several others here who also have grips (and other spare parts.) I know for a fact of several members who have grips they'll sell.

You just need to look longer, and in more places. JMHO.

Went with the Altamont grips with a five week wait.
It is not like I'm deploying with the P08 in a week. LOL |
