Well, yes, it is the color of the metal it is made from with some oxidation.

It does not look like it has any finish left at all.

It was stated above that commercial barrels were never marked? Is that accurate?

Well, it depends on what you mean by commercial barrel.

DWM commercial barrels are marked.
Some after market commercial barrels are not marked; some are marked with country, some with maker, some have proofs of the country where made or installed.

Just depends, so you need to include more details on the specific barrel in question. JMHO.

Why don't you start a new thread and include full pictures of your pistol and markings?

I can't make out the markings below the numbers on the barrel.
