Corrector Holster Belt

Looking over Ebay there are many repo belts listed as German holster/utility belts with varying style buckles. I know some of these must be correct for a standard 4" Luger. Some also include a shoulder strap. I want to see if there is a correct style belt to use with a repo Navy holder with belt loops. Could someone post a link to which belt with or without should strap would be the most correct .

Hi Bill,
Here's a photo of an Imperial Navy equipment belt, good luck finding one! Type 2 holsters and magazine pouches would be carried on a belt like this but Type 1 holsters, stocks and pouches were carried on a separate shoulder belt and these are beyond rare. They were made of thinner leather than the belts and the few that have survived are far too fragile to handle, let alone bear the weight of a Navy Luger rig.

Your thoughts on the listing on Ebay. Original or not. If original, does the selling price seem inline?
It looks close to the belt you pictured.

Hi Bill,
The belt you link to would serve to carry a Navy holster, and keep your pants up too, but it's the far more common Army model. The Navy Crown was different from the Prussian Army crown, a difference that the Navy was careful to maintain on all their equipment, medals, badges and so on.
I'm having difficulty uploading photos tonight, internet problems I guess, but I'll give it one more try.

P.S. If your planning on buying one of these belts to actually use make sure it's long enough. The soldiers and sailors back then were skinny little guys.

Stay away from the ebay offering you posted. The belt is a goofed up repro.

I sold a buckle some years ago to a forum member, and couldn't find the belt at the time. I do remember that the leather was rather thin and the length would only have fit a guy whose waist was less than 30"... certainly not me

So I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment Norme.

Jerry Burney can probably build you a correct belt. There are hundreds of Imperial German buckles on ebay but not Navy buckles.

Just looked at my original USCG jumper uniform from 1972 as a 2nd class P.O. I weighted in at about 153 lbs. then standing at 6 ft. Though the tag is long gone, I'm sure it was a 36" chest size. Now at 185 lbs. and 44" shirt size, I'm amazed that I ever fit into that jumper.
