Ss marked 1910 mauser
Hey guys I got an odd duck today. Picked up a mauser 1910 from a friend and collector with possible ss markings. He says it is from the year 1934 as it was last year of production, but I assume he just meant last year of production for the third transitional models which is what I believe it isThe collector I got it from is a good friend who runs the local lgs and had sold it 9 years ago to a collector and recently just bought it back. Wanted to see what you guys thought.
The hand stamp on the side was actually done hard enough that the frame is partly dented in, but also isn't a proof mark as at the time the u over crown proof mark which is seen on the barrel and slide would have been normal. So I'm thinking an early party member had it stamped this way. Not to much info otherwise. Last edited by Mibit911; 05-26-2023 at 03:24 PM. Reason: Some information was cut out out of post |

Bogus markings on a reblued 1910 in my opinion.
The eagle on the side is pointless and meaningless. Which also explains the SS marking. Someone's fantasy, sorry. |

That's the funny thing with ss markings? I can know thr guy I got it from and a person who has a huge extension of other legit ss and German firearms that have providence. How does anyone prove ss markings as real unless they know know where the gun came from? Especially on a one of a kind gun. I'm the first to usually jump to thst conclusion as well. I can deffinantly tell you the gun hasn't been reblued, rhe fireblue is all intact and there is wear on the original finish its just in great shape. So whether you agree on the ss markings maybe but the gun deffinantly isn't a reblue

Unless you got this reblue from the SS man himself, I stand by my opinion. Fake markings on a reblued pistol.
