Joe, sent me these scans, the Lugers Lugers Lugers page was page 49 of the American Rifleman, 1963, he doesn't know what month.

What is really interesting is that Golden State attributes the Brazilian Lugers to re-worked M2 Portuguese! Never heard that one before. Not only that, Golden State claimed they purchased every Brazilan ever issued. Boy are my eyes tired after trying to read all that stuff.

I know, but to get them under 180 kb's and my patience for tonight, I made them smaller. Went out West to a friends, you might have seen some fo the pictures I took.

Something else:

I have some lanyards lying around that probably originate from dutch KM use. These lanyards have the same attaching clip as the portugese ones and I kinda wondered about the construction of the clips, they should scratch the connector on the gun quite a bit.

Now I see the extra ring on the top picture, this all makes sense. The clip clips to the extra ring, not to the gun!

I actually had the experience of buying from those ads in the early 1960's. The "old Hunter" for $39.95 turned out to be a rebarrelled DWM that was reblued with a mis-matched side plate. The Portugese GNR was worth every cent of the $129.95 (two weeks salary as an intern MD). Unfortunately I sold the GNR for about $200 two years later, thinking I was making a killing, but I needed money to finish my training.

Gerben, that is pretty cool, hey, I saw a leather {small} attachment on a lanyard loop the other day, meant to get a picture, but I don't think I did?

I remember all of those ads quite well. "Ye Olde Hunter" had one in the early 1960's offering Lugers for $29.95 and Artillery models for $39.95. I visited their place on Prince Street in Alexandria, VA, during that time and they had glass cases set up in the hallway that must have contained between 200 & 300 Lugers! I was in college at the time and couldn't afford any of them. Sigh......... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />
