The partial obliteration of the rear sight's numbers through heavy buffing also does not match the condition of the balance of the gun.

My apologies to Ron! I guess he was right..a little roughness..Whew! looked bad there for a little while..Like you guys say..oil, water, micro whatever. Seems to have gone.
Tom, Where's that holster? I am afraid the pistol is what Ron says it is..a neat shooter. I GUESS it could be used with a Navy stock legally? Even a repro Navy stock. It's a Navy configuration pistol?

I would also like to see holster pictures. My first guess was repro but pictures should tell. Bill

Bill, Yes..Condition tells me the same thing..also the location of the maker mark but the top is sewn with one line..Just maybe..stranger things have happened. One can't tell for certain until we see more...

Thanks to all who responded. I knew something was "off" about it but wasn't knowledgeable enough to know just what it was. Oh well, the hunt continues!!! |

Tom, You missed a great learning opportunity. Now you know no more about Navy holsters than when you started. You are now hunting with blinders on.

The holster is/was definitely fake, there is no record of any Navy holster maker actually located in the town of Kiel.
