Default 1935 dated military issue holster ?

I'm looking at a black 1935 dated Luger holster that has the following data stamped on it:

Ehrhardt & Kirstin

Taucha

1935

WaA 170 (straight wing Eagle, not Weimar style)

I have a three day inspection and this was represented as a correct 1935 holster. Its my understanding that the straight wing style eagle wasn't adopted until mid 1937 on Luger holsters. Is this indeed correct ? My hypothesis is that this started as a 1938-1940 holster that someone has redated to 1935 to "enhance" it. Thanks for your input !

Roger

I have not seen a straight wing eagle on an pre-1936 holster but 1935 holsters are so uncommon that I can't say I have seen enough to say. I am unaware of any 1935 military P08 holsters made by anyone other than C Heinichen - Dresden. The police 1935 dates are fairly common but I have seen only Heinichen 1935 dates when it comes to military. I think of EkSt as making a lot of later holsters so you may be correct. Has anyone seen an EkSt holster dated as early as 1935?

The 1935 military holster made by C. Heinichen of Dresden, is one of thr rearest Luger holster. There is no known reason why there were so few 1935 military holsters made, but those that are in decent condition are $$$. They are marked with the standard D/E. I would not touch any Luger holster, dated 1935 that was marked with a S/E.

I think that you are correct, this holster was "enhansed" to increase it's value.
