Default Info on baby? Luger

I purchased a cut down Luger. It's a 1940 dated BYF42
It has a 3 1/4 barrel and a 6 round mag. I was wondering about the markings on it. It has what appears to be a flaming ball with a
script capital L or maybe a C in it. This mark appears on nearly all parts, barrel, side plate, toggle, frame, take down lever, trigger, etc. Has anyone seen these marks before and might know who did the work. The work on the gun is excellent. Thanks for any help.
The barrel is 3 1/4 instead of 3 3/4. doesn't have a BYF on it just 42.

A 3 3/4" barrel is to be expected in some configurations. This one is numbered in the early Commercial style, and was made decades before the rest of the gun. Your information otherwise is self-contradictory: byf marked toggles would be expected to appear with 41 and 42 only as chamber/mfg. year markings. Yes, post pics, please.

It looks like the Belgian Liege proof for foreign guns to me.

So it may have passed through Belgium as a foreign import at some time.
