Is this really an all original 1939 "42" Luger?
This is offered on Gunbroker as "all matching and original except for the extractor." I am a novice and would be curious to know what the more experienced who inhabit this forum make of it.
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/639887279 To my eye, the font on the front of the frame is wrong and the barrel isn't original. I am disappointed to see this vendor offer a product like this. |

I'm not all that scared of it, and it is marketed as a shooter. Barrel does lack acceptance marks, but the fonts seem OK.
Interesting bit of minor lower frame damage just beneath the proofs on the right side. It will be interesting to see what other members have to say about it. dju |

As a Novice, exactly what do you expect Tom Whitman to offer on gunbroker?
Just curious, as they offer a wide range of items, and you are welcome to buy from their storefront on-line or on gunbroker. 'disappointed' - guess that goes over my head |

Hi David,
While it's certainly true that the barrel is a replacement (no bore gauge marking), I'm confident Legacy would have mentioned it if they had noticed it. However, they described it as a shooter and marketed it with no reserve and a $0.01 starting price. If you think the price is now too high, don't bid! Norm |
