Page 54 of Gibson's book states that the blued tube, aluminum base is the rarest of the HK magazines ("least found"). They appeared in 1936. HOWEVER, Mr. Gibson also states that the LWaA mark is below the serial number and is right side up. The mark on this magazine is above the serial and is upside down. What does that make this clip?

hmmm - how'd I miss this thread!!!?????

The orientation and the stamps look fine. I've got an HK mag very close to the ser. number in the auction. Also - the "1" - while it looks strange - is absolutely correct (a very short baseline with an exaggerated overhang/serif...

The only thing I don't quite understand is the feint line across the baseline? â?? but all the photos are slightly â??offâ? (very blue with reflections off the tube/base) so I think itâ??s the picture and a reflection of some sort..???

The rest of it looks just fine - tube, base, construction, etc....

Hope this helps!!!

Hello John D.,

If you would not mind, take a look at a discussion I started titled "HK magazine" in the Luger Accessories section...

I was hoping you would jump in on that one, but realized you might have missed it because it did not occur in the HK section...

Thanks for your help...

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />
