Default Many 'missing' Lugers waiting to be found?

Maybe another topic, but outside of the S/N#1 .45cal. US Test Luger, are there any other 'well known' so to speak, Lugers out there waiting to be found? Also, are the more offbeat/contract manufactured Lugers to be found in the US or in Europe, ect.?
Tks,Bill
Another question, was there ever any Luger directly connected with Hitler?

No on Hitler

There are lots of guns that are 'missing', its just so hard to prove.

Test lugers (Us) given as presents
The mauser and Walther factory collections were ransacked, so, who knows what is sitting at the bottom of the ocean or in uncle Harry's attic...

I know of one I'd dearly like to find....in 1903, the Lt. Governor of our fair state , James Tillman, having taken offense to numerous editorials written in the State newspaper, gunned down N.G. Gonzales, said papers' editor at lunchtime on Main St. with a "long barreled Luger Pistol"... Mr Gonzales, a manly sort of man, replied to the .30 cal insult to the chest with, "shoot again, you coward!" , a request with which Mr Tillman declined to comply. Nevertheless, Mr Gonzales expired 4 days later. Despite numerous witnesses, Mr Tillman was exonerated by a jury of his peers, who evidently preferred gunplay in the streets to uppity newspaper writers. I only assume the Luger was returned to its' rightful owner.

An interesting question...Wasn't Hitler (or maybe Schicklegruber) a dispatch runner during WWI??? If so, it's possible he was issued a Luger...

I'm surprised that [choose a Luger site] doesn't have "Hitler's Luger" listed for sale...along with accompanying documentation, of course...

Corporal Hitler served with the Bavarian 16th Reserve Infantry Regt. in the Great War. This gun's close - but no cigar! Regards
