Thanks to Ron. a most invaluble luger reseach site, is available, 'Springfield Armory National Historic Site', is now available online' It contains our nations store house for early firearm evaluation. My favorite is its priceless informationon the 1900 luger test gun. I myself have printed off,4 pages, 'GERMAN PISTOL LUGER MODEL 1900 7.65MM SN#7018, Manufactured by DWM, Berlin, Germany - Standard German semi-automatic pistol with 8'round detachable box magazine. Blue finish, checkered plastic grips. Used by American Ordinance for testing at Springfield. Grip safety, toggle action, Wooden bottom on magazine. composite piece- may be deliberate to test Interchangeability. My only question,"CHECKER PLASTIC GRIPS' my Test Luger #6736 has wooden mags bottom, complete with a tiny flaming bomb, i have available, and has the same serial on the barrel and frame'
