Question more ?'s from newbie

Group:

Thanks to all who answered my first questions. Now for more.

I purchased a book on the Luger, the Propaganda series III. Nice overall book with just enough info for someone like me to be dangerous.

I see people post messages with regards to "shooters". I take it these are lugers that are your garden variety type and not for the collecting type. What does one look for in a shooter and what price range would one expect to pay for such.

Or should one wait to get one from the Orimar Firearms Corp. This is probably more of a personal decision than one over collecting.

Thanks to all who are patient with us newbies and asking mundane questions.

Hi Jon,

Your deductions are correct. And you should be able to find a nice shooter-grade Luger in the 500 - 800 USD price range. These could range from mostly matching with some stray parts, VoPo or Russian surplus, nickle-plated, chromed, reblued material, etc...

An Orimar is nice, but I personally like the history, something that comes with a shooter grade luger as well.
