Default Post War Artillery Luger

Gents, just to learn from this as my knowledge is limited I can across this Artillery luger but dated 1938. I have read that military artillery luger were only made in WW1. I would presume
then with this example it is a WW2 1938 standard luger that has had a arty barrel put on and then refurbished. Any thoughts or good learning points would be appreciated

Cheers

Ben

Since your barrel is not cut for the tangent rear sight, it is not technically an "artilley " model and since they did not produce any long barrel lugers in 1938, it's a sure thing that this 8" barrel was a later addition. TH

This one would be a better example then, still has the strawing, looks like it has matching numbers apart from the side plate. In regards to the blueing is this too good to be original or just a good honest pistol?

Cheers

Ben,

1st Luger is a poor attempt at refinishing - colors and texture are all wrong.

2nd Luger, although nice looking, is definitely not original finish.

Just a few reasons:
Some of the pins and small parts are the wrong color (all dark rust blued but should not be).
No wear on toggle areas where there should be some wear.
Fresh blue over pitting, lanyard loop, and in a big gouge on the rear of frame.

#2 either has an un-numbered or a commercial side plate.
