Modifield Artillery holster?

I'll apologize up front for only having one picture of this, but that is all I have right now. I'm curious to see what you guys think about this luger holster. To me it looks like an artillery holster that has been modified by removing the strap/buckle and, more significantly, having been shortened. Has anyone seen one like this before? It is out of an estate and was paired with a WWII Luger.

Hi Josh, It's a a holster for the Portuguese GNR Luger. I believe this style was introduced in 1935.

This is a Portugal GNR holster made for the Mauser contract of 7.65 lugers in 1935-36. They are relatively scarce. Should have the last two digits of the year on the back. Bill

That is a fairly scarce holster. There were only 564 GNR Lugers produced so the holsters are equally low production.

they also have the letters of gnr stamped lightly on the back of the holster. sometimes part of the letters are behind the belt loop.

the gun in your photo is not right for the holster. the grn pistol have a longer barrel length and different front site. and the small parts were straw color and not blue.
