Nazi Luger values

I know this gets brought up all the time but I haven't followed this forum in a long time. All WW II stuff has skyrocketed in value in the last few years. From looking at auction sites it appears the starting price for a decent all matching (except perhaps the magazine) Luger is approaching the one grand mark and much higher for one in very good to excellent condition.

Not just Lugers. It seems to me all gun prices are headed for the ionosphere.
Better stock up while you can.

I just wish I could buy at Blue Book prices...they seem to be low by 20-35% .

Yes.. you are absolutely correct Tom!!! I've heard a rumor that Luger prices are supposed to be up 15-25% across he board in the new book... we shall see...

The new books have been on the market since at least 3/31/07 as I saw them being sold at Tulsa.

I have had my copy for about two weeks now. But I did not compare prices in the new book to the prices in the old books.

No matter when they come out they will be behind the times. Think of it this way..You invest in the stock market and once a year a book comes out telling the prices of stocks. Will it be accurate? NOOOOOOOO!!! Even if the author had a very accurate idea of prices, which I doubt anyway, by the time the book is compiled, sent to the editing/printer and printed-mailed-sold there has to be at least a 4-6 month gap.
I buy the book and wish I could find guns to buy at the listed prices but like Tom says..you can't.
It's a great book for many reasons but I don't depend on it a great deal.

Its always nice to have as a general reference - considering the number of weapons listed.

The Blue Book is a good reference, but the values, at least for military guns are not accurate, especially the values listed for lower condition guns.
I just bought an S/42 1936 dated Luger. According to my 2004 Blue Book, its worth approximately $480. I paid much more than that of course.
If someone can tell me where to find original Lugers for less than $500, I'll take out a loan at the bank and buy as many as I can.
