Default advice on firingpen

where could I get a firing pin for my 1936 S 42 ?
I have the org. one marked 01 that is a match for the gun 1101P,
but when I fire the gun it will hang up about every 3rd shot, I bought a older firing pin at a gun show that works fine but it is longer then the org. one.
the org. one looks like someone has worked on it ??
would I do better trying to find one with no marking, or maybe getting my org. one marked 01 repaired ?
Thanks for any advice.

You can find new and old ones on ebay, from Tom Heller, etc.

If you are going to shoot it, then get a diff pin or use the one you had. If original is shorter then maybe the front cracked or chipped off?

If you are going to shoot your Luger, I suggest that you purchase a repro fluted firing pin for safety reasons, and not damage the original numbered piece. Tom Heller(Lugerdoc) on this forum can likely help you out. If Tom has none, then check Sarco and Numrich.

If the firing pin is hanging up every third shot or so and not every time, this is usually an indication of an issue with the sear bar not resetting correctly. I would look there as well.
