Default The Other C. Kenyon Luger Book...?

I understand Charlie Kenyon wrote another luger book called "Luger - The Nulti-National Pistol".

Do any Forum members have this book ? Is it a worthwhile purchase (in the $ 65-70 price range) ?

Thanks in advance for your opinions...

It is not a reference book along the lines of Still's books, but has some of the rarest Lugers ever made photographed beautifully. The Lugers came from several collections, and probably will not be gathered like that again. If you have any interest at all in Lugers you should have the book. Can't go wrong buying good books.

Pete,

Definitely worth the price. Every Luger lover should have a copy of this book, altho I believe it is out of print and hard to find. It has 185 pages, of which about half are full size color pics of common and rare Lugers such as this one of the rare Benke-Thiemann Shoulder Stock.

ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT IMO......and RUMORS of ANOTHER in the works that will be the current treatise and photos will be astounding, a great reference book AND colored picture book! It was done some time ago but extenuating circumstances are delaying it! Thor

Another great "Coffee Table" luger book is Bobba's work on the Swiss pistols. It is very large format, best gun photography I have ever seen and it has lots of technical and factual data, which sadly, Charlie Kenyon's lovely International Pistol does not.

It's about $100 or so a copy.

Default SWISS PISTOL BOOK?

Tom, what is the full title of the Swiss pistol book that you mentioned, and what is the full name of the author?

For those of you not wanting to invest over $100 in a non English language hardcover book on the Swiss lugers, I have several new softcover copies of Datig's "The Swiss Variations 1897-1947" available @$20 post paid. I also have his "The German Military Pistols (lugers only) 1904-1930" @$20 or $30 for both. Tom h.

The book is Parabellum: A Technical History of Swiss Lugers by Vittorio Bobba. It is written in BOTH Italian and English side by side and has a wealth of technical info.

Amazon says the book is out of print (no surprise there) but I believe Bob Simpson may have some copies. Likewise, you might surf ebay.

I bought my copy (technically my kids gave it to me for Christmas) 4 years ago and it was $125 or so then. Worth every penny.

Hope this helps.
