Double dated DWM, 1918/1920
Yes it's an inherited gun. Double dated 1918/1920. All matching s/n's with the exception of the magazine. Have 3 mags, 2 wooden btm. and 1 metal. I'd rate it at 75-80% finish, as has a smith at a local dealership. S/N is 58X (yes only 3 digits). I also have the shoulder holster, unmarked and probably custom made, that it was in when it was "liberated" from Munich at the end of the war. Also have the tool but it is unmarked. Any comments relating to rarity, value would be appreciated. And yes, I do occasionally shoot armadillos with it.

At 75-80% finish, I'd guess somewhere between $550 & $700 depending upon the bore, grips and presence of pitting. "Double dates" are not all that uncommon and the remaining finish isn't enough to make it a collectable. It's a matching shooter and would bring a shooter's price.
As an inherited pistol with possibly a family history, it may be worth more for it's heirloom value than any money you can get from it. Once sold, it's very unlikely you'd ever get it back. |

I'm looking for a magazine for a double date Luger. Care to sell one of the wooden bottoms?

Not looking to sell at this point in time. Just looking for knowledge, and a value guesstimate for the insurance man.
