Almost as Cool as a Luger
I enjoyed the thread on C96 Mausers. Did anyone but me notice in the American Rifleman for last April that the tech editor's favorite gun is a C96 and that he says "... neither is it much of collector's item ..."
I know this is not a Broomhandle forum but those are classic German handguns too. |

Re: OT - Almost as Cool as a Luger
Yes they are David, way cool... Someday I'll get me one, they're just so fiddly to load, (says the man who loves Black Powder). I wanna have a shooter (of course) plan on collecting one of each of all the great historical weapons. Probably a P.38 is nextt on my list. But I'll enlist Kyrie's help when I decide to go the C96 route, there's some real trash out there.

Re: OT - Almost as Cool as a Luger
There are some really nice German Pistols out there. Walther PP and PPK, Mauser 1934 and HSc, Sauer Behorden and 38H. This doesn't include the Fabrique National 7.65 and 9mm. All a fine bunch. Of course the big three of Luger, P38 and Brooms. What a selection. I'm sure I even missed a few, but I'm sure I'll hear about it too!!! I didn't forget the Radom, Star, Llama, etc

Re: Almost as Cool as a Luger
David, Dok et al, If you all are really looking for nice collector grade brooms, I'll add one to the classified next week, that I picked up today along with a nice 1918 DWM PO8 from a vet at a local show.

Hi Tom;
I will look forward to seeing it; other collecting activities have diminished my bank account severely lately; wanna trade for a Cowboy gun? |

Hi Kyrie;
Thanks for the link and I like the photos and printed your article. Perhaps you remeber the C96 I wrote you about. |
