Ex-Student kills 18 in Erfurt

A 19 year old former student returned to the Gutenberg-Gymnasium in Erfurt today, and with a pistol and pump-action shotgun killed two students, one policeman and fourteen school officials before committing suicide. Both the ARD and NDR report he had a weaponsÃ¢?? permit and was a member of a local shooting club.

After feeling sad for the dead, one must wonder what new rules will be necessary to protect Germans from gunowners. It will be interesting to see if the killer really had the permit and membership claimed on the news.
