Well it is a police marking, Schutzpolezei Dusseldorf. Can we get more info on it? approx serial number to include suffix, if it has a sear and/or mag safety?

James,
These are very interesting markings and I second Ed's request for more information about the gun. It appears that this pistol has two successive markings. The first was S.H.3.60. representing weapon # 60 of Bereitschaft (riot company) 3 of the Schupo of Hannover. It was apparently transferred to Command VIII of the Schupo of the district of D¼sseldorf retaining the same Bereitschaft and weapon numbers. This suggests that the entire riot company was transferred from the Hannover district to the D¼sseldorf district. I don't know which city was Command VIII but sometime during the 1920s the number of Commands in the D¼sseldorf district was reduced from ten or more to seven. This marking apparently predates that. Knowing more about the gun may help determine more about its history.
