??????
I was looking on the Gunbroker Site, and came up on this. Auction # 57932061. What is a repo like this worth? Looks pretty cool. Also, I am sure this has been covered, but what does the A.T.F & E. think of putting the stock on a Luger? Legal? Class III? Is it not now a rifle? Thanks, Sean.....

On this forum, it is acceptable to put the url here, makes it easier on us old guys;
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...?Item=57932061 So, that said, it is illegal as hell to put a stock on a luger not originally made for it. If you look it up on the BATF or whatever the hey they are called now, you can see that artillery's, navies, 1900 with certain stocks are allowed. AND, a navy is legal on a navy, an arty on an arty, NOT vice-versa... Ed |

Sean,
I sold one just like this for $150 about a year ago. It ain't worth $500. ATF is okay with repro Artillery stock on an original Imperial Artillery or a repro Navy stock on an original 6" Imperial Navy, but not one on the other or on a 4" Luger. Ron I see old Eddie Rocket Fingers beat me to it.

Hello Lugernauts,
Why is it illegal? Whats the reasoning? Could you put any Luger in this rig as long as it's not connected to the stock? Just a curious newbie question. Thanks, Mike C.

It is illegal because the US gov't says it is so, in the USA
Common perception is this, if you own a stock, you better own one of the types that it fits it. Are you going to be visited by a member of gov't? Probably not, but on the odd chance you display it, or someone comes by and reports you, (say you are at a range shooting with the stock on), then you'd better be able to "show" them. If not, then you might become a felon and a felon can not own a gun...

Lugerluser,
Don't buy that P.O.S. it is a Paki goatskin version. They stink to high heaven, the leather is as poor quality as the workmanship and the wood/metal is absolute crap. There are good repops avail if you want a repop. Find an Odin and let Jerry Burney put a rig together for you. Tom A |
