Post How about a "Lugers for Sale" forum?

<img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />

Another question very often asked is what is my Luger worth? Wouldn't it be nice to have a forum for those types of questions?

Just thinking.

<img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" /> Fine idea. And we could also post links to interesting items that are on the auction sites.

I have to get used to these hyperactive Graemlins!

I hope pointing to auctions (or any sale, really) will be possible somewhere. I learned a lot from those threads. Now that we're filtered to be mature, courteous, fair, generous, constructive and above all forgiving, our succinct and sagacious analyses of the diverse specimens offered to Luger buyers should be more edifying than ever.

Also, how about a classifieds section for other C&R type pistols such as the OT section in the other board. Mauser pocket pistols, rigs, etc.

Better to buy from a another collector than some dealer on an auction site.

Exclamation

Danger Don't Go There!

that's what got us all in trouble last time. a classified section is one thing - but when we start pointing out and bringing up guns on these auction blocks we all start putting out our own opinions on lugers we know little about. ..and then the firestorm starts.

i'd suggest perhaps a place to list interesting items but keep the comments on a one to one personal email basis.

and in reality, most of the active members here are on top of these auction items the minute they get posted. so it's not really news - just a way for someone to comment on something someone has already seen - and that needs to be done one to one. lets not take one step forward and 2 steps back.

Maybe you're right TC. I thought the intemperate personal remarks and backbiting by outsiders were what got us in trouble - but maybe it was offering opinions on guns for sale as well (I throw up my hands about the .45 thing and freely admit that I never understood the issue or the politics).

I for one was NOT on top of all the auctions all the time, and enjoyed having things pointed out and evaluated by members who, it seemed to me, frequently knew more and noticed more than the sellers did. Oh well...

There is a classified section. Just look in the left hand column of the front page (the Lugerforum page).

I haven't found the classified section of the lugerforum web site useful. I inquired about a few of the guns listed (weeks ago) and never received a reply. Some of the ads are well over a year old. I suggest to the site moderator/administrator that ads remain posted for 90 days and then reposted if unsold.

As for a specific "Lugers for Sale" forum, it seems to me like trouble. However, I would like a heads up when something comes up outside of the usual auctionarms, gunsamerica, ect. KFS
