WTK: Value of Black Widow Luger at Auction
Is it worth $1,400?
Please look at the pistol at auction at this link. What is it worth? I'm interested in it. http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=2379298 Thanks in advance! Cincylance God Bless America! http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/Vie...p?Item=2379298 |

Re: WTK: Value of Black Widow Luger at Auction
IMHO - yes... *IF* the numbers all match and the holster is correct... To give you an idea of prices - I have a couple of Black Widows. One is in better condition (finish wise) and it's worth about $1200 - 1300. Another I have is in worse condition and is worth about $1000 - $1100. Neither has a holster and this auction is a RIG...
Anyway - get the details from the owner AND AN INSPECTION period. Be sure it is *as represented* (I hate auctions - but I get sucked in too, sometimes ) I'd really like to see what others think as well - so I hope more contribute to this thread!!! John D. |

Just playing devils advocate for a second. The picture is not real great. The holster looks pretty bad. The guns been on the market for a few days and no offers. Ask the seller for more and better pictures. Watch for sales talk. Ask about return policy. Get a picture of the mag bottom. Many matching alum bottoms are renumbered. Be suspicious of internet buying, many sellers over exagrate the quality of their guns.

Great Advice Big Norm...
for any internet auction purchase...
Because of the visible condition of the holster, I think it may be a little high in price unless the follow-up photos tell otherwise... Verify each detail that Big Norm mentioned. If you get any more photos from the seller via email, post them here on this thread for followup comments from the crew on value... regards, and good luck... John Sabato |

Hi BIG NORM..!
Agree with everything you said - but on the mag, is that the correct mag type all together?? Also, that mag in the pic doesn't look like it should be numbered at all.. The seller states "correct magazine".. Hmmm.....
Also - as a refence point - -here is a listing Bob Simpson has "BW-4 MAUSER BYF 41 BLACK WIDOW RIG, 9mm, 97% blue, vg bore, exc grips, s/n 23y, w/tool & repro mag in a very good black 41 holster, Third Reich Lugers pp 81, 82 $1400.00"... I've never bought from Bob (I'm too busy spending my money with Ralph ) Great points about buying on an Auction site...! |
