Unhappy image size

I finally sprung and bought a digital camera. Took pictures of my collection , tried to post them and the image size is too big, 500kbs. How do I reduce the image size so that I can post?
Craig

Get yourself Irfanview and you can do lots to the images, as well as being one of if not the best image viewer I've used on a PC. Best of all, it is free!!!

Thank you for the tip John. I went to the sight and downloaded it. When I have the time I'll do some experimentation with it.
Regards, Craig
