I've never really looked for 9mm parabellum ammo dating from the WWII time frame before, how hard is it to come by and is it very expensive??
Were would be a good place to search for this item? Any help is appriciated!! Semper-Fi USMC <img border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" title="" src="graemlins/drink.gif" />

Joshua, there was a guy that had a whole case of it at the Big Reno show last August but I don't recall how mcuh it was, I think it was $15 a box of 16 rounds but can't be really sure. Maybe Pete, Ed or one of the others that were there will have a better memory of it.

I bought 2 or 3 boxes of the stuff, nice clean boxes, from an entire case, was like $12 a box, he sold me 3 for $30 if I remember right.
I can scan them in at some point, but won't be home much the next couple of weeks. Ed

Josh, if he is at the Vegas show I'll buy some for you if you want it, I'll check this site in the morning for a reply, otherwise you can contact me at my cell phone # 435 201 9569 up till about 4pm on Friday when I'll be leaving the show. Let me know how many boxes you want, it'll have to ship UPS so figure that in too.

John and Joshua, sorry to report that the ammo was not there, at least if it was I didn't see it. This is the first show that I have been to that had very little ammo and surplus stuff, only really high end guns of all types. I'll keep you both in mind for the next shows that I attend, hopefully someone can find some for you.

Hi! If you can find the wwII ammunition somewhere, I suggest you to not to shoot them. For your own good. Me and my friend found an old finnish wwII 9mm ammo box containing 500 rounds. Last week we shot the last round of them. It was no pleasure to shoot them when some bullets got stucked in the barrel and some rounds felt like the whole gun would have exploded. Well, we were lucky and there were no cut-off fingers or exploded lugers. We shot with an Erfurt luger wich was in great condition. A luger in worse condition could have been deactivated forever... Don´t do what I do, do what I tell you to...
Sorry the crappy text. |

There is another reason NOT to shoot the WW2 German 9mm ammo. It is not economically sound. Folks are paying dearly for just a few rounds to go with their collectible pistols.
At up to $16 per 16 rounds (PLUS SHIPPING)in a mouldy cardboard box... that would quickly turn a case into several hundred dollars worth of antiques! ...and lets not forget that the stuff is corrosive!

Thanks for the tips! Trust me I wasn't planing on shooting the ammo, especially at $16-20 a box. I just wanted the ammo to add a little flare to my Luger display case. I think it looks alittle better with the historically correct ammo, rather than displaying a box of modern ammo (Wichester etc.).
I would like to thank Herb for making such a great effort to help out a fellow Forum member! Herb, You ended your private message to me with "Go Army" I think you meant "Go Marines" . Semper-Fi USMC
