t. Much better photo's!

That's a really odd size serial # on the front of the frame...Looks like a very small 6 large 5? Is that a weird optical illusion or is this the case?

Jerry, Just another example of "using what you have". The serial numbers on the frame front were said to have been stamped individually. Old "Hans" just didn't have the time, or just didn't want to hunt for smaller fonted 5's as he already had these 5's in hand.

Old "Hans" apparently stumbled around and found the right size 6 for the left side of the weapon.

Let's assume old "Hans" did the frame, "Oops, wrong size" so he turned around and found a bigger 6 for the receiver Not impossible.

For some reason, the color tone of the receiver is different from the barrel and frame. Also, the relieve corner edge is soft on the picture.

I don't even have an Artillery and don't know it, just post randomly. Never mind.

Is the front top of the receiver cut/notched for the rear site?
I thought it should be but can not see it in any of the pictures, might be hidden.
