Default Difference between P-38 and Luger Holster

Like to know difference between Luger and P-38 holsters. Can send pictures of a holster that I have a question about. Has no tool pouch and magazine pouch has concave cuts for luger circular floor plate knobs. The holster is unmarked.

Thanks

Has no tool pouch and magazine pouch has concave cuts for Luger circular floor plate knobs. Well, you can pretty much rule out P38 then eh?

Jerry is correct. The lift strap is also different. On the P38 both ends are stitched (or sometimes riveted). On a luger, the strap come through the front body and is "pulled" manually by the wearer.

Also, after 1940, holsters started to be marked "P08" and "P38" respectively.

There are also many other differences in details such as makers, dates, waffenampts, materials used and so on..........

No tool pouch ever installed? Might be an East German Luger holster.
