Default Prayers

Seems like I am always asking for prayers from you my forum friends. Mostly for my wife. This time it's for me. As a result of a routine physical and further tests I have an abdominal aorta aneurysm. Will know more tomorrow when we meet with a heart Dr. I expect it will require surgery. Right now I mostly feel like a walking time bomb. Thanks friends !!! Bill

Glad you found it, and it sounds like its in an operable area. Had a friend who blew a brain aneurism - the ONLY reason he's still here today is because he was literally just outside of Standford medical center - just a mile or two away! Lost another dear friend to one - she was gone before her head hit the floor. I think you're WAAAY ahead of the game here!

Keep us posted!

One of those things it pays to know about in advance. Good luck and take your medicine Bill. You are needed around here.

Sarah's and my prayers are with you (and lots for Mary too) my friend. We have another acquaintance that has been walking around with the same type of aneurysm for over 15 years now. You are fortunate to have had it diagnosed with a routine exam. So hang in there, the odds are on your side.

Bill, a close family member had this same thing and because they caught it, all was and is well. My best to you.

Bill, you are certainly in my thoughts and prayers for effective treatment as needed, and a fast recovery.

My father survived a burst aneurysm in the brain back about 50 years ago. I remember things so clearly, even though I was young.

I expect that taking things easy will help avoid any immediate problems, so no running, wood chopping or anything stressful.

I went through two major surgeries last year, and things worked out well thanks to the competence of a wonderful surgeon and hospital team. I've got confidence for you!

Marc

wow Bill, I'm so sorry to hear. here's something i read:

Quote:
Treatment is usually recommended when an AAA grows to >5.5 cm in diameter. While in the past the only option for the treatment of AAA was open surgery, today most are treated with Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR). EVAR has been widely adopted, as EVAR has a lower risk of death associated with surgery (0.5% for EVAR vs 3% for open surgery). Open surgery is sometimes still preferred to EVAR, as EVAR requires long-term surveillance with CT Scans.
I will light a candle in prayer, and I hope you'll receive some encouraging news from the surgeon; I personally feel risky procedures require at least a couple professional opinions.
God bless,
Darius
