Default My Lugers are jealous

Until recently, I had more Lugers than any other handgun, but I recently began collecting P.38s and those have surpassed the Lugers in quantity. I would love to have the Lugers catch up but P.38s seem to be a bargain compared to Lugers. I've been surprised by the number of good deals I've found whereas Lugers seem to sell for top dollar every time, although I was happy with the price I paid for an LP08 a while back. Here is a photo of my latest P.38, a byf 44 that is in near mint condition.

I like P-38's, but it does seem like the older P08's have the old world craftsmanship.

I agree SS109, but they are both cool guns.

Well, I like the P-38 too; however, please be aware of the following quote from page 281 of the "Firearms Assembly" manual for pistols and revolvers, published by the NRA, copyright 1993:

"Pre-war Walther HP and P.38 pistols were manufactured and finished to the highest shop standards. This is not true of P.38s produced later during the war. Inferior materials, shoddy workmanship and outright sabatage by conscripted laborers combine to make some of the pistols produced during 1944 and 1945 dangerous to use."
