Default Check this one out

Everybody knows the hardshell pouch for the Luger 08. Here you see a Luger in a holster, only produced for paratroopers. With this holster it was possible - in case of seizure - to do one shoot directly from the hip. Marked on the backside with "P08" and "WaA". Only the holster is for sale, the pistol is for demonstration. The catching sling is in a separate auction.

I don't buy the "story".At least the seller should show the WaA marking.

I've seen similar, called "Tropical Hoslters" which dosen't make sense. A Fallschirmjäger holster makes more sense, since everything had a weight consideration.

Not convinced about the "shooting from the hip" part..

Would that strap across the toggle prevent the action from cycling? Regards

Me neither, a quick pull holster would make more sence.
The toggle can't even work while shooting out of the shown holster.

Just another Luger fairy tale...

That's why the ad states that ONE shot was possible from the holster, which I believe is accurate.

Whether the story of its issue is true I have no idea.

Here is a similar "holster" I purchased a few months ago and some period photos.
I sold this thing recently, it was too ugly.

Christisn's (Laoshi) photo should aswer any questions about the origin of the holster. Neither the fellows in the two photos nor the holster is German.

Specimen of "ersatz" cheap holsters for some units of the Esercito della Republica di Salò, created by Mussolini after the Armistice of September 1943. I was told that some of these holsters were German made (for the Italian market), but like George I have doubt..

Do the Italian issue Lugers have any special markings or characteristics? I wasn't aware that they were issued Lugers.

I precise that the markings on the back of the holster are not german. the eagle is not WaA stamp, more probably an Italian eagle.

Ron,

Just german Lugers given by German Army to Italian forces, without specific markings, IMHO.
