Post Holster for G Date

Howdy all.....

Just purchased my first G date and am looking for the proper holster. Would it be marked with a "G" or simply 1935? Does anyone know where I can find one?

Seagg98, There are no 1935 holsters. They are all accounted for. They are so rare that only a few are known. Apparently there was an overstock in 1934 so very few 1935 holsters were made. I know of only five or so. could be more but they deffinitly aint many. Any holster preceding or after the G date is correct. The pistols were not generally issued with any particular dated holster. Depending on when the pistol was made and issued any holster a few years before to a year or two after would be appropriate. Holsters of 1934 had the tool holder , cleaning rod leather attachment. The holster that came with my G date Luger had a drooped eagle over a waffenampt and a manufacturer's logo. Incidentally, the really hard thing to locate is the proper loading tool for the G date. Mine is a 154 tool.

Jerry,
The best 1935 holster I've ever seen was bought by a collector at the Louisville gun show a couple years ago. He bought it fresh off one of the tables and it was cheap (I think $200 or less?) He couldn't wait to show it to those of us who knew what it was.

I agree that they are super rare, but they still turn up.

Most of the 1935 dated luger holsters that I've seen have been police marked. The WaAed one (military issue) are the hardest ones to find. Tom H.

Brad, yes you are quite correct of course. It was a little tongue in cheek sarcasm I suppose. I was just implying that to find one would be a VERY unusual circumstance and expecting to match your G date with one was an example of the impossible dream. I should not have stated this so matter of factly. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. I shouldn't be so flip when I answer a question. By the way I know an old buddy of you and your father's. Brian Lay of Yuma AZ. He and I are old friends from way back. Jerry Burney
