Well it would appear...
most of you favour AIMCO being listed in the Links and Resources. Just for your information, a company or individual can get listed in our Links and Resources if it is bona fide company/individual that our members have dealt with, or based on a resonable test the listing has value, and members are generally positive about them.
It is my opinion (backed up by a number of you) that this company is a bona fide company and makes a product that fills a certain niche. It is also my belief, the product they produce is not misrepresented in any way, and while difficult to assess the value for a reproduction firearm using current material, I understand many members are pleased with their purchases. I shall list AIMCO in the Links and Resources because the listing criteria has been met. Dok (Webmaster) |

Re: Well it would appear...
Thank you! One of the things that I like about them is that there is no way someone can modify one to then sell to some unsuspecting person as a rare version. Anyone who knows anything about Lugers know that there were no satainless steel ones built prior to these new ones. They are a reproduction, not a counterfit.

And I appreciate you fortitude...
I have spoken to HÃ?Â¥kan and asked him not to be so abrasive. But like us all, he is entitled to his opinion, and as a member of this forum, to express that opinion here.
Like you, I happen to like the stainless steel luger, and feel that it has a place here on this forum. I would not like to see you leave over this issue, there will always be viewpoints with which you do not agree, often expessed vehemently, but you can't keep giving up things you care about, because others don't dance to your tune. I trust you will not act hastily... Dok |

SS Lugers
I have two of the Stainless Lugers and they perform as well
as any of the German Lugers, they look impressive, they hold a good group. Then again most of the Lugers I have perform well. I have heard of some of the problems people have had with their German Lugers, I guess I have been lucky so far. By the way Aimco is manufacturing a 22 target pistol fashioned after the 1911, sort of. It is a good looking piece, marketed towards the competition folks. By the way, they are just down the road from me 150 miles and I would like to see them prosper. They give meaning to the commercial motto, Made in Texas, By Texans. |

Re: My Stainless Steel pistol
Gruss Gott BOB!
I agree with you in most respects, but I have to admit (to Hr. Spuhr as well), he does make some valid points.Bob,I have several of these "pieces of ...." as Hr. Spuhr is so fond of calling them. They do fill a niche.I'm comfortable shooting them and if one of these days they prove Hr. Spuhr to be totally "on the money" in this ongoing debate about their quality (or lack thereof) then I'll know if I made an error in judgement when I bought them. In then meantime,I have to realize he has an opinion which I may not endorse fully at this point, but may sometime in the future. I hope not,but it may come to pass.We all have strong opinions. If we didn't have the opinion that Lugers (or P.38s,or whatever) were nice guns to have,we wouldn't be having this discussion.None of us would have anything to do with them regardless of whether they were new or old manufacture.I'm on board with those of you who say "enjoy what you have at your disposal".I refuse to shoot my old mathching guns. These - who gives a damn if they prove to be less than eternal?! I just like to shoot them. The next phase might be to look for a postwar Mauser. It's a thought I've been kicking around. These choices might not be the same as an "historic" piece, but then we owe it to posterity to preserve the truly historic (wartime) guns so others can have the thrill of seeing them, just as we have been allowed. Sorry about being so long winded (fingered),but I find it impossible to stay out of this ongoing controversy. Thanks all for your patience! Tschuss! Mark M. |

Re: Grip Safety ? ? ? ? ?
I do not know if all of them have a grip safety. I was very surprised when mine came with one. The pictures I had seen previously did not have a grip safety and do have a ridge where the stock lug would have been. Mine is stamped as year 2000. Does anyone out there have a year 1999?
