$200,000 and "No 3 day inspection, prepayment only"...Now that is reassuring. Let's see now, where did I put my checkbook?

I know that on e-bay I will think something is valauble, mainly cuz, I have never seen one before. Then you look around and there are actually 10 of them for sale. Amazing what idiots there are in the world. And to think, this is over 3.5x's what my first house cost!

Whizakers!! Hitlers Initials!? Ya know, it is a little known fact that Hitler did have a night job as a Luger inspector. Between that and his paper route,he did try to conquer Europe. Boy, talk about work stress, just trying to make ends meet!

Very Sincerely,
Napoleon Bonaparte

What this seller has included in his ad should make for a cheery transaction :

" No 3 day inspection, prepayment only, buyer can pick up at my expense at my attorneys office. "

Pete, I'm confused by his auction. Is he including all of the other stuff he makes note of? Is this a case-lot auction? Or is he just selling the Luger?

Does't matter Ron, he better give a lot more information and "proof" before it is worth over $1500 for the "lot"!!!

Ed, I was'nt trying to justify the price. I was alittle dazed that he would think that, even with the other stuff. He could get that much.
After all I guess it is Hitlers personal Luger, what got stole from the bunker. You can take it to the bank, cuz his Dad said so.

Yup, I was as amazed at the guy wanting 150K for the carbine. Heck I want one, but that is a house mortgage in many places!

That is the problem (advantage as a seller) for auction arms and gunbroker and I presume gunsamerica, is that they don't charge you anything until after the sale. So, this leads to high amazing prices that no one will bite at, unless they have more money than brains. Also, the seller does not get dinged with fees so they are like mister dkf who keeps high priced items continually on the gunboards that never sell? There is no incentive to NOT sell, so the same stuff gets onto the boards again and again.

Hi Ed,

I think this is some fellow's idea of a practical joke.

Notice the photos do not even seem to have been taken at the same time/place and with the same camera ? If you were selling a nice HK and holster, wouldn't it be reasonable to expect they would appear, together, in the same photo(s)...?

Me thinks some guy in CA-State is having some perverse fun...

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

The funny thing Pete and John is that if he had a decent price on it, we might be getting excited instead of derogatory!

I think his price is wayyyy "decent" <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

Seriously - I agree with you.. A decent price couple with a some detail photos would go a long way...

Best to you!

Aw-w-w. Come on guys. He doesn't want to sell. He's just having some free and harmless fun bragging about his collection. Laugh it off and enjoy.

It's back as a new auction but with the WalMart "falling price" of $150,000... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> Must be that "Rare Eagle 2 varient" HK that's commanding the hefty asking price? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> Thank goodness my "common" HK's have the more common "Eagle varient" - so they were a bit less pricey.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Give or take a few more $50,000 whacks - and he'd be in my price range.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
