Question P.08 Luger

I would like to get a price on my great grandfathers Luger. It appears to have all matching parts, except the magazine. And it comes w/ a holster. (P.S. Blurry 4th photo is the # 42)

Hi Zach, and welcome to the forum.

Nice looking 42 byf Mauser made Luger.

Could we see the bottom of the magazine?

Hard to judge finish from the photos, but my first impression is that it's original and at a fairly high state. 90% or better.

Sharp photos taken in natural indirect (shaded) light will help more. Size them to 1024 pixels across or so.

If you're looking for an insurance value, take a look at online dealers like Simpson's Ltd. and CheckPointCharlies.com. FGS firearms, etc...

The holster if original and in good shape is probably $250 or so. The stitching on the holster is oddly coarse and uneven, but this point in the war may have seen less stringent Quality Control and inspection. The holster experts need to comment. It would be useful to see the left leading edge of the holster, near the place where the buckle is attached.

With non-matching period magazine, probably about $1500 or so plus the holster.

s/n 5741b, right?

higher condition state is worth more... Lower state work a fair mount less.

Any refinish or mismatch on any numbered part drops it 50%

Marc
