E808 1906 Cross in Shield for sale in Waddy
Besides being higher than the range of E prefix Cross in Shield Swiss Lugers discussed by Gortz and Sturgess (p. 646 in the red set), this gun is missing the dot after the E and before the digits in the serial number. Also, the font size looks off compared to G&S picture shown below.
Owning a nice C/S Swiss Luger, I can also tell you that this gun is refinished and restrawed, in case anyone is wondering or bidding. https://www.gunbroker.com/Item/879919011

$8326 for the Luger and $10,275 for a Tangent P35. It might be the lighting on his listings but the blueing looks the same from gun to gun. Maybe my old vision.

I suspect they were all refinished by the same "artiste".

To be fair, I found an E prefix gun (E690) on the Land of Borchardt site that is numbered very much like the GB offering. However, I still consider E808 to be a horrible refinish, it looks like shoe polish.
