Default Mec Gar magazines

I use them in my luger but can only get 7 rounds in them. Luger magazines hold 8 rounds? I always thought so.

Mecgar mags will hold 8 , some easier than others- a loading tool is usually required.

Since they are aftermarket mags, they are not "required" to hold 8 rounds!

All of mine hold 8 rounds but the first round usually stovepipes. Therefore, I only load 7 at a time.

What Don said; use a loading tool and you can get 8 rounds in a Mec-Gar mag. It becomes easier as the mag is used more.

Once I have the eight rounds loaded, I slap the back of the mag against my palm. It helps to seat the rounds properly for good feeding.

got one a few years ago that would only accept 6 round - struggled with loading tool to force 8 rounds into it - left it loaded for three weeks , has been functioning perfectly with 8 rounds in several different luger ever since -

The few times I took my first "Russian capture" P08 to the range, many years ago, I used a new Mec-Gar mag that used to get 8 rounds.
