I get a real chuckle out of some of the "creative" write-ups one can find in gun ads...

Here are a couple of my recent favorites...that are still active...

Ã¢?? A Factory Mismatch as these were being put together as Fast as Possible! In BeautifulÃ¢?Â¦Ã¢?Â <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

Ã¢?? This pistol was issued to the Royal Marine(hence the nickel finish)guards who guarded(poorly) the Embassy in Sarajevo, the southern-most part of the Empire at that time. The nickel was to ward off corrosion in the "tropical" area. Ã¢?? <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

Thought other Members might have their favorites as well...???

Pete, I don't remember the exact phrase, but it was an Erfurt center toggle piece on a Mauser, I think an S/42, with matching numbers. The add said something like the Germans were using spare parts from every place they could find them. You can tell if was a factory piece, because the numbers matched!! Wow, that was a bigggg stretch!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

my favorites continue to be "authentic reproduction", "rare, limited issue of 1 per customer while supplies last" and "restored to original"

This guys has a good sense of humor, now on Auction-Arms :

" I am a nice guy and will try to help you as best I can, however, based on emails I have received from other Luger collectors on past auctions, be advised that:

I will not reply to emails that ask me to measure the grip screw head diameter to the nearest 10,000th of an inch. Nor will I sit up half the night with a micrometer trying to determine if the proofs are struck off-axis to the bore. Do not ask me if the grips are Pre-Weimar, Volkensen-type third variation of the second pattern. I donÃ¢??t know. Volkensen probably wouldnÃ¢??t either.

Reasonable questions are always welcome..some I even reply to! "
