Commercial Luger??
Guys
I am lost in the tall grass of commercial Lugers, concerning trying to give my friend some sort of information on a Luger he has. If anyone can provide some inside would be sincerely grateful. Manufacturer - DWM Serial - 6947 - no suffix Caliber - .30 Barrel - number to the pistol Engraved on barrel - Allemagne Stock lug - yes Small parts - last 2 numbers marked on the takedown lever, safety and the side plate 47 in the military style. Rear of the toggle, below the rear sight 47 Proof stampings - located on the forward left side, C/N and C/U Chamber marking - none

What puzzles me is the military style numbers on the small, visible parts. There is no evidence of military proof markings. Also, can it be an alphabet Luger, even if there is no suffix in the serial number.? It has a coiled recoil spring and no grip safety, so it is not an early model. The is one misnumbered part located behind the safety. All other parts are marked 47, yet this piece is 93.

No offense, but we are simply guessing without detailed pictures.
If there is no chamber date, and no suffix, then the serial number can not be right on a 1908 model. The sn has to be higher, or its a test luger and would not have a stock lug. |

C/N and C/U proofs don't make since. There should be one or the other... not both unless it was proofed again later.
We definitely need pics.
