Another pretty one from the collection.
Seems marked correctly, and has a plethora of E/2 stamps on many small parts.
Gorgeous finish.
Has only a tiny bit of holster and action cycling wear, slight wear on grip straps from a lot of fondling, and some fading to straw parts.

Somehow, I bet this guy worked at a desk.

Anna, Gentlemen,

just a stupid question about this (once again) beauty: is there any reason for the light difference of stamps places between these two photos ?
(BTW, I sometimes wonder what was exactly the "timing" of all stamps marking during all the steps of the pistol manufacture).

Interesting observation, Christian.
I have no idea of the manufacturing and proofmarking sequence used at Krieghoff, but hopefully another member can shed some light.
I have read something on this board about the Simson receiver proof application sequence, so maybe someone knows the answer to this.

The top photo was a pistol assembled and inspected on Wednesday and the photo you posted Christian is a pistol assembled and inspected on Monday morning after a long weekend...

Seriously, it just seems like the stamps were applied with a bit more care on the pistol presented by Anna.

Just - simply - stunning... An wonderful example... While I've owned/verified/handled a number of 1937 HKs - your's is simply terrific. As 1937 was one of the high production runs, typically - they are a bit more used than yours, but - based on the pics, what little wear there is, certainly appears as "honest" wear...

Also - Christian.. John is actually right (even though his reply was in jest with a Wed. HK LOL JS!!! ) I've seen the proofs in various orders through 30 years of focusing on HKs.. Now - for "witness marks" - if ANYONE can make rhyme or reason out of that on HK production??!!!

seriously, I am in love for Artillery Rigs. I had a heart attack when I saw photos of the collection of George Anderson. George has one of the greatest arty private collections in the world. I guess I will have an other heart attack soon when Anna opens her "two huge boxes full of conventional holsters and LP rigs"...

This is why I am posting so many close ups of small parts and proofs.
I want folks to see what a good gun is supposed to look like.

And on the ones I have questions about, it helps the sharp eyed collectors here discern what is correct and what is not.

I appreciate all of you very much, and am grateful for the chance to share this collection with equally fanatic Luger people.

I don't show them to many in real life, for two reasons.
One, I am pretty paranoid about people knowing I own these and where I live, and two, very few folks have the discerning eyes to appreciate and understand what I might show them.
"Pearls before swine", so to speak.
So presenting my guns on this board is a delight for me as well.

A great luger Anna, thanks for sharing. I was wondering, while the trigger is numbered stamped with the last two digits of the serial number, the locking bold isn't, any reason why.

Just looked, the takedown lever is indeed marked 01, but it is to the inside of the take down lever, above the checkered round.
Had to take it apart to get a good look.

Glad to help, Alfred, and good luck on finding that first Krieghoff.
The finish is so remarkable that it will stand out to you.
If you look closely, you can even see a distorted pic of *me*, taking the pics, in the mirror finish of that gun.

I noticed the finish of spring hook and trigger connector is swapped on another HK, P1184. I assume Anna's gun being correct.

Any comments?

Well, on my minty one, that part is in the white, and has an E/2.
It appears in the pic you show, that the part has a 5 and is blued, whilst the gun is numbered 84, so I would give it the Hairy Eyeball for sure on that part.
Ach, I see that one is a P series.
Not the same model, things may be different.

And adding to that, Anna's spring hook is not numbered, but proofed stamped, while that other is numbered only without proof stamp. Am I correct ? since my eyes are not what they used too be
Those who have a Krieghoff can they state how the spring hook is marked, the see if there is a patern to marking the spring hook. Thank to All.
