Post My first Krieggie!

Lucky Guy I am---
My Mentor is "cleaning out his safe", and gave me the opportunity to own this one.
This pistol is about 90% in my estimation. A 1936 dated chamber, the workmanship of the K/hoff crew really shows thru. Then, to top it all, matching mag. Not close, but exact. Yes, I know, it' the spare, but it matches!! And does not appear to be forced. It is also listed in Randal Gibson's book.

Ronnie,
the spare mag is MORE than good enough. Most people don't even have that yet alone a bonafide Kreeg-off. Nice going. OK, now get going on the rest of them.

Hi John D.,

Around what serial number range did HK switch the location and upsidedown/rightsideup orientation of the HK proof on their magazine bottoms ?

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Hey Pete..!!!

Hmmm- that's an excellent question, as I've never been asked that??!!! I'm not certain there is a definite "cut off" - but I see what you mean... Let me do some research in my records, OK?

Best to you!

Hi again, John D.,

I can't seem to find the page reference in R. Gibson's book on HK luger (boy, I hate that...), but I seem to recall he indicated "1" and "2" marked lugers are only seen in police-service lugers and the military versions used "+" only...and as of his writing, he mentioned only seeing a few HK magazines with "1" and none, to date, with "2".

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Hey Pete!!!

Sorry about that - I got so involved with Panu's question yesterday, I forgot all about this one!!

Anyway - when I finish cleaning up my office (it's a MESS with cables, servers and systems scattered about - I can't find anything that has to do with my "paying job"... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> Which reminds me - if the site goes down for a bit - it's only me re-stringing cables so I don't trip over them as I walk across the office..!!! )

I'll take a look later for that info, too..!!!! Thanks for the reminder!

Hi John D.,

Did find the R. Gibson reference, as noted in my last posting...it appears on page 56 of his HK book...

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />
