Default $120 Gletcher Luger Replica

Check out this Luger replica air gun.

They've done quite a job on the details of it's appearance!

I think I like the Umarex version better.

I own a Umarex blowback version and am amazed at the degree of detail that has been implemented into these BB guns. Someone really did their homework. They are a hoot to shoot.

I have the non-blowback Umarex - the detail is impressive!

Ah! But can you double tap?

The detail on the blowback is also amazing and it's a real semi-auto.

Disclaimer: I don't work for Umarex, nor do I own shares of the Company, I don't even own one of their P08s, even though that might change in the future.

I feel sure that he can. The first generation Umarex(non blowback) was a semi-auto. It has more of a double action trigger setup compared to the 2nd. Gen. model which simulates the original P08. Actually my P08 blowback has a better trigger pull then my original Luger.

You are right. It's sort of a double action only thing.

But the blowback version is much more like the original.

By the way the original Lugers trigger pull can be vastly improved from the factory standard. But it needs the work of someone who really knows what he's doing and has very good knowledge of the Luger pistol.

My shooters are set to 3.5 pounds to be on the safe side of the 3 pounds minimum accepted in our competitions.

This is so true. A "bubba" trigger job can easily end up causing said Luger to double or even go full auto. The toggle train is so fast in it's action, that when one doubles it sounds like only one round was fired. I have had it happen a time or two, and it definitely will get your attention.

Not only "Bubba" can do it, but a perfectly reworked trigger group can make a double happen. It only takes servicing two pistols at the same time and inadvertently swap the sear bars on assembly. Seen it happen. And also fired a double while trying to figure out what was wrong. Not funny.

I've had it happen to me with a stuck firing pin in a .22 cal Hi-Standard Trophymatic...The whole clip sounded like one shot...

(I know; I've posted this before...but I'm bored...)

Well, I for one am glad you posted again. Since I missed it the first time.

Same thing happened with a P38 when I was in the Army, luckily no one got hurt.

Since I shoot one of them Hi-Standard pistols I'd like to know if you found out what made the firing pin stuck?

It was back in the late 60's, IIRC. Brand new, had sat in the gunshop for a while. I swapped a Remington revolver for it, took it out to a sand pit near my parents Summer cottage, loaded 5 rounds, charged it, and pulled the trigger. Bang. Pulled the trigger again...Nothing. Looked in the mag...Nothing there...

Loaded 5 rds again, charged, sighted, pulled trigger again. Bang, again. Pulled again...click. Looked in mag...No rds.

Looked on ground...10 fired cases...

Loaded 5 rds again, this time just aimed at sandwall and watched to the side, pulled trigger...bang...and...nice stream of 5 fired cases arching down...

Don't really know why...I was only 18...I went in the service the next year; don't recall what happened to the pistol...

I just looked in my NRA book; I keep calling it a Trophymatic, but I guess the proper name is Supermatic Trophy...

While on the full auto subject: Legends (UX Umarex) sells the C96 Pistol M712 Which will shoot either single BB or go full Auto with the flip of a button. Great fun and great replica.

When you shoot this replica in full auto does it slow down and the BB velocity decrease near the end of your full auto string due to the CO2 cylinder getting real cold(frost on it) and losing gas pressure? I usually shoot 5 rounds and check the target and allow the CO2 cylinder warm and get back to normal pressure. These look like they would be a lot of backyard fun.

No kidding?!? I think I need me one of those!

I haven't looked at the market recently - is anyone making a Borchardt BB/pellet gun? That's about the only way I could afford one!
