Going to see it tommorow evening (Friday) as well! Been drooling over this film, since I saw the trailer about 1 month ago....

I also find the Eastern Theatre of WW2 a bit more interesting than the Western Front. But that's just me.

Glad to see a major-movie based on it hit the big-screen..

Keep the plot a secret...the outcome I think we all know!

Giving Hollywood too much credit, Hugh. In theÃ?Â*next big war film coming out this year, "Pearl Harbor",Ã?Â*they repainted all theÃ?Â*attacking aircraft over the correct light gray that the planes flew in. Pearl will now be blown up by the Imperial Navy in green aircraft, almost matching the olive drab of theÃ?Â*defending P-40's. Fortunately for the aircraft owners, the paint wasÃ?Â*washable so they could fly home looking asÃ?Â*authentic asÃ?Â*possible. Hopefully, they won't give Zaitsev an AK-47 and Konig an M-16 for "Enemy at theÃ?Â*Gates".

Default Everything in hollywood .......

is for visual effects. I guess those red balls looked better on a green background rather than light gray

Milt et al, I seem to remember a flick from years ago about two snipers fighting it out in the rubble of Stalingrad. Anybody remember the name? It was something like CROSS OF IRON. Perhaps EATG is a remake.

No, it's not a sniper movie but "Cross of Iron" is an excellent war flick, probably the best on the eastern front, directed by Sam Peckinpah and starring James Coburn and Maximilian Schell. Another good eastern front movie is the German-produced film "Stalingrad." I am going to see "Enemy at the Gates" this weekend. From the previews and reviews I've seen, it looks like it is going to be good.
