Default Luger Grip Restoration

I sometimes feel that forum comments seem to be negative toward different ideas. But then again--I'm also guilty. I have commented negative about Murphy Oil cleaning of grips. I totally disagree of course---but did not Know that process was written by one of our own. Ted I apologise---your method works---but 20+ years since I used this method. I will be away from home for a week. When I return I will try to send a detailed explanation of what I have found to be a better way. The webmaster will have to guide me---but I'll do it and hopefully with pictures/scans. I have responded to several guys with details. Seems enough interest that perhaps I should share my experience and take my licks. I have just again experimented with a method that I have toyed with for some time---and think it may be better than that I have used for 20 years.

I suspect that I have been restoring much lesser grade grips than you guys are thinking about. I will try to also address checkering touch up. Couple of pre-views---Paste paint and varnish remover and Easy Off. Now maybe you guys will get ahead of me and I will not have to write the dissertation. I have done weekend workshops in my home before on Luger restore work---some keep commming back. My guest of course. Grip restore is 101 and it is a bitch. But if you want to travel and bring the Crown Royal--let me know.

Default Art, if you do a write-up...

and send it to me, I will post it in the FAQ or General Info section, as an alternate method of cleaning grips.

I will do this complete with picture examples. Might be a week or so. I appreciate the interest.
