Were Any 1902 Luger Carbine

Yes. Some 1902 Carbines in 9mm were rebarreled or rebored (frequently advertised as "original", but they ain't!) however, I handled an original 9mm 1902 Carbine back in the 70's and one individual on this or Jan's forum owns an original.

I think you will find that that ad dates from the 1920s, not 1902.

Please note this 1923 has the exact rear sight as my rear sight on my carbine. Rear sights we used on these part lugers!

Please pay attention, what is on that picture it is not "1920 carbine". It is long barreled Luger. Carbine is different thing altogether.

in the 20S, My carbine sight is identical in the sample! I circular the sight same sight so theres no confusion! Both sights are identical.

Why would anyone put three sights on a gun when only two
are needed?The front sight and the rear sight in front of the chamber,or the front sight and the rear sight on the rear
toggel link. That is all that is needed.

As best as I can say ig goes the elevation Now there a 2 models Im aware.Ill take out my kreighoff and navy and compare the all. Its there for some reason, we didnt put he there! Hi Eric, The long barreled gun in the pictures you've posted has a two position Navy rear sight, not a fixed blade. Regards, Norm

I know what a 1920 carbine. I was mearly demonstrating that the rear site wasn't unique!! I'm sure the rear sight was intentional. Then who put it on? Apart from the sight what do you think of it.???

In that era there were many companies and gunsmiths putting together a myrid of lugers. They did not care what sight was on what. Unfortunately this persisted with a few of our US dealers. I would be surprised if a luger ever left Germany, at least from DWM, with two rear sights. If you will look in Kenyons you will see that 1920 carbine has one rear sight. There is absolutely no reason for two rear sights except to sell a luger regardless of correctness. Bill
