Question Unopened WWII ammo boxes?

I haven't bought any of this for a number of years. I think I paid $20 a box? Have a local guy now trying to sell some to me for $40. Is this what it's going for now?

Doug,

I was recently happy to pay (probably over-pay) $ 95 for a box of 24 Swiss 7,65 military rounds...made in 1943 and never opened...

Doug,
I paid $10 a box for two boxs of 1944 about a year ago. One opened, one sealed. I think $40 a box is a bit too high. Then on the other hand I could be stupid too!

Hi All,

Empire arms had some a while back. I bought two boxs, one open and the other is still sealed.

Be well,

What boxes are we talking about? Are these the WW2 9mm German make that are 16 rounds to a box?

Thanks!

Thnaks for the info. I have a few to dispose of as well, but will wait a bit and let you get rid of your first.

Actually I have a complete case of the black tipped 9mm (mit Eisenkern). I have to figure out how to dispose of all that. Annoyingly enough I believe it is considered 'armor-piercing' which limit some states that I could sell it to.

As I may have mentioned previous, my father was an avid collector of things military (focusing 99% on firearms and ammo) so I'm still finding things.

Thankfully there are forums like this to provide such a wealth of knowledge!

I reload so when I can't find something or when a friend needs an odd round and can't find it or its way too expensive I use this chart. Surprising what is out there that will work with the use of a dremel tool and sizing die.
