Default The neccesity of the stock lug

Finally having the honor of owning a luger with a stock luger except my 1906 French Luger. It made no sence to me the make lugers with stock lugs and only three major lugers that have a stock as part of a complete luger. the artillery and navy. Its illegal to attach a stock to any other without a special exemption. " The obvious reason for the lug is to allow the attachment of a wooden shoulder stock. These stocks were manufactured for the carbine, the more common 8" barreled Artillery Model and the less frequently encountered 6" barreled navy model. The stocked carbines were manufactured by DWM for commercial sale prior to WW1 for commercial sale prior to WW1 and to a more limited during the Weimer period. The Artillery Model was the product of both DWM and Erfurt, while the naval version was was solely manufactured by DWM. The stock sold with commercial carbines was magnificently turned out complete with checkereing. The pistol looks better without a stock lug.
