M1911 Colt 45
A friend has inherited a WWI? WWII? Colt M1911 45 ACP and leather holster in excellent condition and would like to sell it.
What is a good forum site devoted to the M1911 that my friend could inquire and be able to determine the value of this pistol and holster?

Try Culver Shooting Page (CSP) Forums. They have an excellent forum for the 1911/1911A1 pistol.

What is the serial number of the Colt? I can at least tell you the date of production. The holsters, in most cases, are fairly common and don't much influence the value of the rig.

I believe that the serial is 140160.
Will try to acquire a few pics of the pistol & holster and post them.

That would put it in 1917 production by colt. Original finish was blued but not a high gloss blue.
